YouTube can share Shorts ad revenue with channels in its Partner Program. Uploading a clip or getting views does not automatically qualify your channel for payment.
Check the rules in YouTube Studio
YouTube's Partner Program has subscriber and viewing thresholds, account requirements and a channel review. Open the Earn tab in Studio and check the official eligibility guide for your region. Rules checked September 30, 2026.
Make videos with something of your own
Your own podcast, tutorial or recorded story can give you a series of Shorts. Reposting someone else's clips with small changes can fail YouTube's reused-content rules, even when you have permission. Read the channel monetization policies.
Turn one recording into different clips
Use SlicePost to find separate ideas in your recording. Keep enough context to explain each one. Check speaker changes, caption spelling and the ending before posting.
For example, a camera review might give you one clip about low-light footage, another about battery life, and another showing a mistake to avoid.
Track what your account actually earns
Keep editing costs separate from revenue shown in your account. A Content Rewards campaign rate does not apply to YouTube ad revenue; they are different payment systems.
